Who we are
Swapport is published by Sanzar Technologies (SMC-Private) Limited ("Sanzar", "we", "us"), a company registered in Pakistan. For any privacy question, reach us at support@sanzartech.com.
We are the data controller for the limited processing described below — which, as you will see, is almost entirely processing that happens on your own device and never reaches us.
We don't collect your data
Swapport is a peer-to-peer phone-transfer tool. It exists to copy the data you choose from an old phone to a new one, with a verifiable receipt that everything arrived.
To do that, the app needs to read the items you select on one phone and write them on the other. That reading and writing happens entirely on your two devices. We — the company — do not receive, see, store, or process the content you transfer. There is no cloud account, no backup server, and no analytics endpoint behind the app.
This is not a promise we ask you to take on faith. It is structural: Swapport has no server that could hold your data, so there is nothing for us to collect even if we wanted to.
How a transfer works
- You open Swapport on both phones and choose what to move.
- The phones pair by scanning a QR code shown on one screen with the other phone's camera. The QR code carries the encryption key, so the two devices establish a private, end-to-end encrypted channel directly with each other.
- Data flows device-to-device — over your local Wi-Fi, a direct wireless link, or a cable — never through us and never onto the public internet.
- Each item is verified on arrival with a cryptographic hash check, and the app shows you an honest receipt of what moved, what needs a further tap, and what could not move and why.
Both phones must be physically present and consenting. There is no way to pull data from a phone you do not hold.
Permissions we request, and why
Swapport asks only for permissions needed to move the data you choose. Each is used for that purpose alone, and the data reached through it goes only to your other phone.
| Permission | Why Swapport asks | What we do not do |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | To scan the pairing QR code on your other phone. | Never take, store, or upload a photo — the camera only reads the code. |
| Photos & videos | To read the photos and videos you choose to send, and save the ones your other phone sends — keeping their original date and GPS metadata intact. | Never upload them, scan their content, or keep a copy. |
| Contacts | To read the contacts you choose to move and write the ones your other phone sends. | Never upload your address book or share it with anyone. |
| Calendar | To move the calendar events you choose. | Never upload or read them for any other purpose. |
| Files & storage | To move documents and files you select. | Never browse or index your storage. |
| Local network / nearby devices | To find and connect to your other phone directly. | Connects the two phones to each other, not to the internet. |
| Notifications | To show the transfer's progress and keep it visible while it runs. | Shown on your device only. |
| Run in background / keep awake | To let a large transfer finish if the screen sleeps. | No background activity except a transfer you started. |
| Internet / network state | Required by the OS to open the direct local link between the two phones and pick the fastest one. | Never send your content to any internet server — there is none to send it to. |
You can decline any permission. Declining one means Swapport cannot move that category of data — nothing more. A transfer never depends on granting us any form of tracking.
What we never do
By design and by our published constitution, Swapport will never:
- create an account, login, or user profile;
- collect analytics, usage statistics, or telemetry;
- show advertising or share data with advertisers or data brokers;
- track you across apps, sessions, or devices;
- read, index, analyse, or monetise the content you transfer;
- upload your content, contacts, or metadata to us or any third party;
- run any hidden, remote, silent, or background cloning of another phone.
On-device logs and diagnostics
To help a transfer resume after an interruption and to let you troubleshoot, Swapport keeps a local activity log on your device. This log holds metadata only — for example, "42 of 60 photos moved", timestamps, categories, and error reasons. It never contains the content of your photos, messages, or files.
This log lives on your phone and is never automatically sent anywhere. If you want our help with a problem, you can export it yourself and send it to us deliberately — and even then it carries metadata, never your content. We use such an export only to help you, and delete it once the issue is resolved.
Data security
Transfers are protected with strong, modern end-to-end encryption — authenticated encryption over a per-device secured channel, with the key exchanged through the pairing QR code so it cannot be intercepted. Because your data moves directly between your two devices and is never stored on our infrastructure, the most common causes of data breaches — a central database, a cloud backup, an account system — simply do not exist in Swapport.
Consent, and protection against misuse
A phone-transfer tool is exactly what covert "stalkerware" pretends to be, so we built Swapport to make such misuse impossible by construction:
- A transfer requires explicit consent on both phones.
- It is visibly in progress on both screens while it runs.
- It requires physical possession of both devices and the on-screen QR handshake.
- There is no remote, hidden, or "monitor another phone" mode, and no account that could pull data from a device you do not hold.
Children's privacy
Swapport is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Regardless of a user's age, the app collects no personal information, so it does not knowingly collect data from children or anyone else.
Your privacy rights
Laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data a company holds about you, and to object to its processing.
Swapport makes these rights straightforward: we hold no personal data about you. There is no account, no server-side profile, and no stored content to access, export, or erase. The data Swapport handles stays on your own devices and is under your control there — you can delete it with your phone's normal controls at any time. If you believe we hold any personal data about you and wish to exercise a right, contact support@sanzartech.com and we will respond.
Third parties
Swapport does not sell, rent, or share your personal data, because it does not collect any. Your content moves only between your two devices. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which apply their own privacy terms to your download and payment; we do not receive your content through them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Effective" date above and post the revised version at this address. Because the app collects no personal data, we do not expect material changes; any that occur will be described in plain language here.
